Islamabad (Tahrakhleel) With the retirement of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Deputy Chairman Mirza Afridi, the post of Chairman Senate became vacant for the first time in the country’s history.

These posts were abolished by the dissolution of the Balochistan Assembly, Sadiq Sanjrani took oath as an elected MPA on March 7, after which he resigned from the post of Chairman and Deputy Chairman Mirza Afridi became the Acting Chairman. On Monday, March 11, 52 senators including Mirza Afridi retired, due to which Mirza Afridi is not even the acting chairman.

At that time, there is no head of the Senate. Four days ago, the parliamentary leaders headed by Ishaq Dar considered this issue. As the constitution requires that the position of Chairman Senate should not be kept vacant, how to solve this problem, it was suggested that Sadiq Sanjrani or Mirza Afridi should be appointed as the Chairman Senate.
