LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Tuesday announced to donate her organs after death while recalling that saving a life is like saving the entire humanity, ARY NEWS reported.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid, the Punjab Health Minister, stated on Tuesday that she would give her organs after she passed away, highlighting the idea that saving one life is equal to saving all of mankind.

In a news conference held by the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) after the parents of a kid on a ventilator said that their child will donate organs, the health minister for the province declared, “I am making a statement regarding the donation of all my medically-fit organs after death.”

She welcomed organ donors and praised the PKLI personnel, mentioning that 70% of the transplants done there are conducted at no cost.

“At PKLI, we have successfully completed 231 kidney transplants, 140 liver transplants, and 58,000 dialyses in a year so far.” The bone marrow transplant clinic would reopen the following year, she added.

She said that while the present administration was running the medical center in accordance with its original mission of serving the public and providing them with improved access to healthcare services, she regretted the way the hospital had been run in the past.
