A British court dismissed an appeal by a tabloid paper against a ruling that it had breached the privacy of Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, by printing parts of a handwritten letter she wrote to her estranged father.
The Mail on Sunday newspaper was seeking to overturn a High Court ruling that it breached Meghan’s privacy and copyright by publishing parts of the letter she sent to her father Thomas Markle in August 2018, three months after her wedding to Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth’s grandson.
The House of Beckhams, a new tell-all biography by Tom Bower, reveals one possible point of contention between Victoria Beckham and Meghan Markle, who were formerly close friends. According to the book, Markle expressed interest in wearing Victoria Beckham designs soon after she and Prince Harry were engaged, but things soured when she was turned down for gifts and handbags from the designer.
The latest royal quarrel involves a fashion faux pas. After the bombshell revelation that Meghan was enraged by Victoria Beckham’s wealth, a fresh story has surfaced. Though they had been close before—Markle is even reported to have stayed at the Beckhams’ Los Angeles home—their relationship worsened when the newly engaged Markle allegedly demanded free clothing and handbags from Victoria Beckham’s fashion brand. However, the palace is said to have turned down this request due to etiquette. It was “vetoed by the Palace for being against their rules,” Bower said of the request.
