KARACHI: Former International cricketer Shahid Afridi said he will decide franchise for Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7 closer to the time of the event.

"ابھی تک کچھ طے نہیں ہوا۔ ملتان سلطانز اور کوئٹہ گلیڈی ایٹرز کے مالکان اور ان کے مداح مجھ سے محبت کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن، میں نے ابھی کچھ فیصلہ نہیں کیا ہے،‘‘ انہوں نے کہا۔
واضح رہے کہ اطلاعات کے مطابق پی ایس ایل 7 کا ڈرافٹ 6 یا 8 دسمبر کو ہونے کا امکان ہے۔ ایونٹ اگلے سال جنوری میں متوقع ہے جس کے بعد آسٹریلیا کا دورہ پاکستان ہوگا۔
Since the PCB does not currently have a permanent chairman, the board’s acting chairman, Justice (retd) Syed Afzal Haider, has decided to postpone the meeting till the next chairman takes over.
The next PSL edition is expected to bring up important topics such as broadcasting rights, title sponsorship, and the valuation of each franchise’s squad, so the meeting will be especially beneficial.
The franchisees had already written to the PCB to ask for authorization to name a stand-in chairman for the gathering. It is crucial to keep in mind that prior to Najam Sethi’s departure as PCB chairman, invitations to the meetings were sent out.
The teams are also worried that with the new PCB administration, new contracts may not be very valuable and that it may be harder to get sponsors for the upcoming PSL season.
Despite the franchises’ worries, one owner is hopeful about securing a solid broadcasting deal because Ehsan Mani, Imran Khan’s choice for the future PCB chairman, has a much of experience in this area.
