Because of its innocent-looking thumbnail, viewers can click it with ease when it shows on the “For You” page.
TikTok claims that the video debuted on Facebook first and has now spread to other websites. But the company is taking down the video and banning the accounts that either already have it or are trying to upload it.
Many TikTok creators are warning their viewers that in one of their videos, they might see an image of a man with a grey beard sitting in front of his desk. But for reasons that are still unclear, the most disturbing parts of the movie are hidden behind more innocent-looking TikToks.
Due to the fact that TikTok videos are only displayed in one main stream called “For You,” users find it challenging to avoid viewing anything like this. This instance exposes a significant weakness in TikTok’s content filtering system.
