KARACHI: The opening ceremony of the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is likely to be held as per the COVID-19 protocols and safety guidelines.
ذرائع کے مطابق میگا ایونٹ کی افتتاحی تقریب کووڈ 19 پروٹوکول کے مطابق منعقد کی جائے گی جب کہ پی سی بی نے افتتاحی تقریب پر اضافی اخراجات نہ اٹھانے کا بھی فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ انتظامیہ 20 جنوری تک ایک بیان جاری کرے گی۔ جہاں پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ (پی سی بی) کی پوری توجہ شائقین کی مصروفیات اور شائقین کو حیران کرنے پر مرکوز ہے، وہیں کراچی کے نیشنل اسٹیڈیم کے اطراف کا ماحول تہواروں سے بھرپور ہوگا۔
فینز پارک میں بچوں کے کھیل کے میدان اور دیگر سہولیات دستیاب ہوں گی۔ ذرائع کا یہ بھی دعویٰ ہے کہ پی ایس ایل کے آئندہ ساتویں ایڈیشن میں سب سے پہلے نئے عناصر کو شامل کیا جائے گا۔
Affected teams will be able to select from a reserve pool in an even less available player pool. In the event of a Covid-19 outbreak, doubleheaders will be held in the remaining days to fulfill the deadline of February 27. Additionally, the tournament will be suspended for seven days and bio-secure bubbles reset from scratch.
Even with these precautions, the epidemic has already dampened the event’s impact before it even begins. All-rounder Shahid Afridi will not play in the PSL opener, the Quetta Gladiators confirmed earlier today, following a positive coronavirus test.
