Another 21 people died and 1,590 were infected from coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours (Monday) across Pakistan, showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Tuesday morning.As per the latest NCOC figures, with the addition of 21 new deaths the toll has now soared to 22,618 whereas the total number of cases has now reached 976,867 after adding 1,590 new ones.

According to him, the number of COVID-19 cases has increased during the past few weeks, and the positive rate has increased from 2% to 4%. He also discussed how a spike in instances of the Alpha type of the coronavirus was followed by a sharp rise in cases of the Delta variant.
According to Dr. Sultan, the novel coronavirus strain originating in India and SOP violations are the primary causes of this increase.
