Pakistan declared on Sunday that it has reached the historic milestone of immunizing 100 million people against the coronavirus.

“National immunization drive reaches a significant milestone. The head of Pakistan’s anti-virus campaign, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar, tweeted that 100 million people had received all recommended vaccinations.

He stated that about 127 million individuals out of 210 million have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We are very close to achieving vaccination of all (the) eligible citizens,” he stated.

For the tenth day in a straight, the South Asian nation—which has been battling a fifth wave of the epidemic since it started in March 2020—has registered less than 1,000 new illnesses, according to the Health Ministry.
