ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday announced pakistan grant transit an Rs5 billion humanitarian aid for Afghanistan besides allowing transit of Indian wheat to the neighbouring country, ARY NEWS reported.
یہ فیصلے وزیراعظم کی زیر صدارت افغانستان سے متعلق ایپکس کمیٹی کے اجلاس کے دوران کیے گئے جس میں چیف آف آرمی سٹاف (سی او اے ایس) جنرل قمر جاوید باجوہ اور وفاقی وزراء نے شرکت کی۔
وزیراعظم نے پڑوسی ملک کے لیے انسانی بنیادوں پر اربوں روپے کے پیکج کی منظوری دی جس میں 50,000 میٹرک ٹن گندم، ادویات اور طبی سامان شامل ہوگا۔
عمران خان نے قومی سلامتی کے مشیر معید یوسف کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ افغانستان کا دورہ کریں اور وہاں کے حکام سے انسانی امداد کی فراہمی کا طریقہ کار وضع کرنے کے لیے بات کریں۔
According to Pakistani customs authorities on Tuesday, starting this month, India would be able to transfer 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat and medication to Afghanistan via Pakistani borders.
Given the deteriorating relationship between the two nuclear-armed states, Pakistan has prohibited the entry of supplies from India for years, making the approval of such a convoy extremely unlikely.
It is a reaction to the humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan, where since the Taliban seized over last year, there has been a sharp increase in poverty and hunger.
