ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday directed authorities concerned for the construction of a cricket stadium of international standard in Islamabad, ARY News reported
The Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, the Pakistani leader, reportedly gave his approval for the building of a state-of-the- cricket stadium in Islamabad on Friday, December 31.
The details state that PM Khan met with the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja, and received his approval in principle for the construction of a stadium equipped with the newest and most sophisticated facilities. He instructed PCB Chairman Raja to use all available means to expedite the completion of the stadium’s construction.
In order to ensure that the ICC The champions Cup 2025 matches would take place at the stadium, Ramiz Raja asserts that every effort will be made to complete the construction of the facility before 2025. He went on to remark that the country has achieved a significant milestone when it was granted the honor of hosting the Champions Trophy.According to the PCB Chairman, the competition would offer an international experience. He revealed that there have been two applications filed to purchase land in Islamabad.
Moreover, the building of a cutting-edge cricket international stadium in the city would further the growth of cricket in the country, according to Nadeem Khan, the head of the National Outstanding performance Academy.
During the meeting, the seventh Pakistan Super League (PSL) edition was also discussed. According to reports, the previously mentioned effort is progressing gradually, and the PM Khan is anticipated to lay the foundation. Officials from the PCB and the CDA are collaborating to ensure the prompt completion of the aforementioned project.
