DHAKA: Pakistan’s former bowling consultant Vernon Philander shared his experience of working with Pakistani bowlers. In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Philander said Pakistani bowlers responded so well to him throughout the T20 World Cup and Bangladesh tour.
In an effort to encourage their men’s national cricket team, a number of Pakistan’s most illustrious and well-respected athletes have wished them well in the ICC World Test Championship matches against England, which get underway at Old Trafford next week.
These well-known and widely respected athletes, led by the greatest of all time, Jahangir Khan, took part in the 24th episode of the PCB Podcast to support Azhar Ali’s team, which will be playing competitive cricket for the first time since March in unusual and difficult Covid-19 conditions.
Ahangir Khan, a ten-time British Open and six-time World Open squash champion, said: “I can only imagine the difficulties in training and focus during the Covid-19 outbreak. Without the supporters, the England series will be far more difficult than it has ever been. Still, I’m confident the team will play with determination and deliver results. I’m wishing the team well on this voyage, much like other supporters.
Shahbaz Ahmed Sr., the 1992 Olympic bronze medallist and 1994 World Cup winner, said, “My best wishes are with the team.” Sports activities will provide fantastic entertainment, especially since Pakistan cricket has a vast global fan base and most people are currently staying at home.
