According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the per-litre prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) were reduced by Rs1.71 and Rs1.79, respectively.
For the next two weeks, the government will significantly lower the price of gasoline and high-speed diesel (HSD), which will help people who are struggling with inflation. This announcement was made on Friday.
Petrol costs will drop by Rs. 10.20 per litre starting on June 15 and will now stand at Rs. 258.16 per litre. A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office states that HSD will now only cost Rs267.89 per litre, a decrease of Rs2.33 per litre.
In the open market, the price of kerosene oil will remain at Rs171.61 per litre and that of light diesel oil (LDO) at Rs157.32 per liter.
In this regard, an official notification has also been released by the financial division.
Notably, the government lowered the price of diesel by Rs3.86 per litre and gasoline by Rs4.74 per litre on June 1. The people has been given a total relief of Rs35 per liter for gasoline thus far.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said earlier in the day that energy pricing for the industrial sector will be significantly reduced, with rates being lowered by Rs10.69 per unit. This action is intended to increase industrial production and exports.
The new electricity price per unit for the industrial and export sector is Rs34.99, thanks to the prime minister’s efforts. For industries, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) suggested this decrease.
