At the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on Tuesday, Pakistani skipper Babar Azam showed signs of recovery with a spectacular 158, his greatest one-day international score, against England.
As captain, the batsman who is currently ranked first scored the highest innings of any Pakistani in an ODI. After 38 years, Babar Azam achieved another honor by being the first skipper from Pakistan to score a century in England.
Azam’s century made him the only cricket player from Pakistan to score three hundreds in one-day internationals. On English territory, Saeed Anwar, Fakhar Zaman, and Imamul Haq had each scored two centuries.
