The Pakistani rupee is hitting a 22-month high against the US dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistan rupee strengthened by 23 paisas against the United States (US) dollar at the start of today’s trading, hitting a 22-month high.

At the beginning of today’s trade, the Pakistani rupee gained 23 paisas against the US dollar, reaching a 22-month high.

The local currency is currently selling at Rs152.95 against the US dollar, according to forex brokers.

The previous day, the rupee closed at Rs153.18 versus the US dollar.

In addition to decreased demand for dollars as a result of the ongoing pandemic, the local unit has gained significant ground thanks to enhanced foreign exchange reserves, a current account surplus, foreign loan receipts, and increased remittances.

Since hitting an all-time low of Rs168.43 in August of last year, the rupee has gained more than Rs15 during the past seven months.

At the beginning of today’s trade, the Pakistani rupee gained 23 paisas against the US dollar, reaching a 22-month high.
