Singers Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are a power-packed duo who enchant the world with their unmatched chemistry and love.
The 22-year-old In My Blood hit maker’s new documentary, In Wonder, has laid bare his most candid thoughts about his personal life and his ladylove.
Mendes said in the Netflix film: “A song comes on the radio or something and I’m like everything is about you, they’ve always been about you.”
“She goes, ‘What do you mean?’ I’m like, ‘They’re all about you. Like, every song I ever wrote,’” he went on to say.
The two lovebirds met back in 2014 and had sparked rumours of a romance the following year after they teamed up for the duet, I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The couple has been quite public with their relationship through PDA-packed dates and social media exchanges from 2019.
In Wonder, which also includes footage of Mendes shot during his ascent to fame, has multiple appearances by Cabello.
Mendes reads his former daily affirmation at the start of the official trailer: “I sing with no tension.” My voice sounds good and robust. The celebrity informs admirers, “I went through a big phase where I used to write this over and over again,” even though he no longer reads them.
The pop diva says in the movie, “When you first step on stage, ego comes rushing in.” It says, “Don’t make a mistake.” You say, “Oh yeah, I’m just a guy and I love music,” after about 30 seconds. It’s time to give up.
Although many fans would anticipate seeing Mendes’ life as an artist in the documentary, the singer wants them to see a different aspect of him.
“This is the story of a guy growing up, not about a famous musician,” he declares. Earlier this month, Mendes also released the music video for the lead single off his next album, Wonder. On December 4, the album is scheduled to be released after the documentary.
“You are aware of the reality?” Mendes remarks on performing in the documentary. “It feels like a dream when you walk up to the stage and look around.”
Fans should be happy to watch Cabello stand behind her beau during Wonder.
