Prolific cricketer Shahid Afridi spoke against Australia all-rounder James Faulkner for allegations of non-payment and mistreatment during the ongoing PSL 2022.

This year, Quetta Gladiators all-around player James Faulkner decided to leave the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Shahid Afridi, a former all-rounder for Pakistan, voiced his displeasure and called the Australian’s charges “baseless.”

Faulkner said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had continued to lie to him and had not honoured his contractual arrangement, despite his full-time attendance at the event.

Following his stint for Quetta and his absence from the first four PSL 2022 matches because of COVID-19, Afridi criticized Faulkner on his own Twitter account for his baseless charges.

Prior to coming to Quetta for the competition this year, Faulkner participated in the PSL in 2021 with the Lahore Qalandars. He expressed regret to his followers via his official Twitter account for his withdrawal.

“It hurts to be leaving, as I wanted to help bring international cricket back to Pakistan because the country has a lot of young talent and incredible fans,” he wrote on Twitter. It is a travesty how the PCB and PSL have handled me. I’m sure you all know where I stand.

“James Faulkner made several comments that disappointed me since, in exchange for Pakistan’s hospitality and preparations, he made baseless allegations. We have all been treated with dignity and have never once had a late payment. Afridi stated, “Nobody should be able to damage the PSL brand or Pakistan cricket.”
