Senator Shaukat Tarin swore in as a federal minister on Monday at the President House in Islamabad, according to the country’s state-run media.
Pakistani President Arif Alvi swore Tarin in. Attendees at the occasion included senior officials and members of the prime minister Imran Khan’s administration.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, the minister of information, congratulated Tarin on assuming office as a federal minister.
Hussain released the following statement: “Shaukat Tarin’s efforts are commendable for stabilizing the economy, alleviating poverty, and promoting the construction industry in the country under the vision of the prime minister.”
He was optimistic that Tarin would contribute significantly to the nation’s economic development and stated that the business sector had high expectations of him.
Tarin was PM Khan’s financial assistant before. Earlier this month, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gave him a Senate seat.
He will probably regain control of the finance ministry portfolio after taking the oath of office as a federal minister.
