Hajj 2025: Saudi Arabia Adds AI and Cooling Tech for Pilgrim Safety
Hajj 2025 Planning in Full Swing
Saudi Arabia has launched major preparations for Hajj 2025. Officials have introduced a new safety plan to protect pilgrims from extreme summer heat. With over one million participants expected, the government is investing in smart technology and modern cooling systems.
Heat Management Becomes Top Priority
Minister Tawfiq al-Rabiah emphasized the importance of controlling desert temperatures. Last year, heat levels rose beyond 51.8°C and caused many fatalities. In response, the government will deploy over 250,000 personnel. They will also install 400 misting fans and expand shaded areas by 50,000 square meters.
Technology Enhances Crowd Safety
New AI systems and drones will monitor pilgrim movement. These tools help detect health risks and overcrowding in real-time. Security teams can now act quickly to prevent incidents and ensure smooth flow.
Authorities Enforce Permit Rules
The government is taking firm action against unregistered pilgrims. Data shows that over 80% of last year’s heat-related deaths involved people without permits. To stop this, officials have launched awareness campaigns and increased patrols. They are also imposing strict penalties, including deportation and a 10-year ban.
Massive Infrastructure Upgrades
Crews are renovating roads and walkways around the Grand Mosque. They are adding heat-resistant materials and shaded paths to reduce sun exposure. These improvements aim to make the pilgrimage safer and more comfortable.
Saudi Arabia Fulfills Its Sacred Duty
The pilgrimage begins on June 4. Saudi leaders view pilgrim safety as a religious and national responsibility. “Hajj is a sacred trust,” said Minister Rabiah. “We promise to protect every pilgrim and support a meaningful spiritual journey.”
