PM Shehbaz, Bill Gates promise to eradicate polio from Pakistan

The prime minister emphasizes the government’s promise of eradicating the deadly disease.

The National Taskforce on Polio Eradication, chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, convened on Monday in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister conveyed appreciation to the Gates Foundation for its substantial contribution to the ongoing battle against paralysis.

.He also appreciated the significant progress made in the fight against disablity, as well as the dedication of frontline personnel, government leadership, and partner help.

Shehbaz Sharif decided that we would keep up our efforts as long as the illness persisted in paralyzing children.

PM focuses on the country’s efforts to eradicate polio this year. In his speech, Bill Gates emphasized that his organization will keep helping Pakistan eradicate debility.

Modern NEOC facilities are much valued by the Chairman Gates Foundation, which also emphasized the value of disaster forecasts in minimizing losses and accelerating recovery efforts.

Additionally, PM Shehbaz and Gates went to the National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC), where Lt-Gen Inam Haider Malik, the Chairman of the NDMA, provided a thorough briefing on the NDMA and NEOC, including both pre- and post-disaster processes.
