PM, COAS and ISI boss discuss the security situation

Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Director General Inter Services Intelligence Lt Gen Faiz Hameed was also present in the meeting. Sources said Prime Minister Khan and COAS Bajwa discussed the security situation in the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a visit on Tuesday from General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), and Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum, the Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), to discuss issues related to national security.

At the meeting at the Prime Minister’s House, Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about his recent visit to China and his conversations with Chinese authorities.

According to sources, the PM was briefed on the security situation in the nation, including counterterrorism operations against terrorists and their groups in Balochistan and KP, by Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir and DG ISI Lt-Gen Nadeem Anjum. According to sources, the meeting also covered the situation at the western and eastern borders as well as regional security.

Additionally, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued an order for swift and severe action against those who smuggle wheat, urea, and sugar, as well as for their arrest. On Tuesday, he presided over a review meeting about the prevention of wheat, urea, and sugar smuggling in Islamabad.

The prime minister declared that he would not step down until the nation’s problem of smuggling is eradicated.

He declared that a few bad apples would not be permitted to raid the national coffers and undermine the interests of Pakistanis.

The Prime Minister declared that a detailed inspection of the products seized from traffickers will help identify the true offenders and bring them to justice. He advocated for increasing the quantity and capability of anti-smuggling courts.
