PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja dissatisfied with U19 team selection

Lahore: Chairman – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja is not happy with the U19 team selection for ICC Cricket World Cup, scheduled from 14th January to 5th February 2022 in West Indies.

According to the sources, the PCB chairman refused to sign on the selected probables for the mega event. Ramiz told the selection committee that he would see selected players himself.

In this regard, an important meeting has been called by the PCB chairman. Junior Selection committee members and coaches have been invited.
Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called 21 players for a training camp ahead of the U19 Asia Cup and ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.

The list of players provided by the Junior Selection committee includes Abbas Ali, Abdul Faseeh, Abdul Waheed Bangalzai, Ahmad Khan, Ali Asfand, Arham Nawab, Asif Ali, Owais Ali, Azaan Owais, Faisal Akram, Ghazi Ghori, Haseeb Ullah, Irfan Khan Niazi, Muaaz Sadaqat, Mehran Mumtaz, Muhammad Umar, Muhammad Shahzad, Qasim Akram, Rizwan Mahmood, Zeeshan Ahmed and Zeeshan Zameer.

Raja takes over for Ehsan Mani, who completed his three-year term last month.

Ramiz and Asad Ali Khan were nominated by PCB chief benefactor Prime Minister Imran Khan.

As a member of the opposition, PM Imran objected to the PCB chairman appointing a prime minister. However, he followed the same script and again selected Asad and Ramiz, nominating Mani to be the chairman.

It’s noteworthy that Asad and Mani had both received prior nominations.
