Chief Executive of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wasim Khan has resigned from his post,

Sources said Wasim Khan has presented his resignation to PCB Chairman Rameez Raja, who has accepted his resignation.

The sources further divulged that Waseem Ahmad quit his post after some of his powers clipped.

Just before the first one-day international was set to begin in Rawalpindi earlier this month, New Zealand Cricket announced that they would not be continuing their first trip of Pakistan in eighteen years.

England quickly announced that they would not be going on their scheduled tour for the following month.

Pakistan said that India posed a threat to the cricket players in New Zealand.

Khan’s resignation follows the recent resignations of bowling coach Waqar Younis and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq from Pakistan.

Two weeks have passed since former cricket player Ramiz Raja was chosen to lead the PCB.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said on Wednesday that its chief executive has resigned, two weeks after New Zealand and England called off their tours of Pakistan on security concerns.

Wasim Khan resigned four months before to the expiration of his contract. His resignation was not explained by the PCB, but it did say that it would meet later on Wednesday to “consider the matter.”
