Eid ul Adha 2025 Moon Sighting: Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Convenes in Islamabad Today

Eid ul Adha 2025 Moon Sighting Update

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meets in Islamabad today to finalize the Eid ul Adha 2025 moon sighting decision. Chairman Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad leads the session to determine the beginning of Zil Hajj 1446 Hijri. This decision will confirm the national date for Eid ul Adha celebrations.

Committee Meeting and Coordination Nationwide

Authorities have planned the main session in Islamabad. Meanwhile, Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees across Pakistan join in from their respective cities to observe the Zil Hajj moon. Together, these teams aim to maintain religious unity in moon sighting.

Expected Eid ul Adha 2025 Date in Pakistan

The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) expects Zil Hajj to begin on May 29. Based on this, Pakistan could observe Eid ul Adha on Saturday, June 7, 2025. However, the final decision depends on moon visibility this evening.

Scientific Observations and Moon Visibility

Suparco notes that the Zil Hajj moon forms on May 27 at 8:02 AM. Despite this, the moon’s young age of just 11 hours and 34 minutes by sunset will likely make it hard to see. Therefore, today’s local observations will play a crucial role in determining the new Islamic month.

Global Celebration Date and UAE Update

The Emirates Astronomy Society forecasts Eid ul Adha in the UAE for June 6, 2025. This sacred Islamic festival, observed on the 10th of Zil Hajj, involves Hajj rituals, sacrifices, and communal prayers across the Muslim world.

Religious Importance of the Moon Sighting

Accurate moon sighting for this year’s Eid celebration ensures proper preparation for Hajj rites and the Qurbani tradition. It also helps Muslims around the globe align spiritually and organize celebrations according to Islamic principles.
