Pakistan reports 27 new corona deaths, 1,086 infections in one day

Pakistan has registered another 27 deaths and 1,086 infections from the coronavirus pandemic during the last 24 hours (Thursday), showed the figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Friday morning.

As per the NCOC statistics, after the addition of 27 new deaths, the overall toll has now surged to 28,228 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,262,771 after adding the fresh 1,086 cases.

During the last 24 hours (Thursday), a total of 43,590 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 2.02 percent. The number of patients in critical care was 2,132.

In addition, the country has announced 28,228 deaths so far after announcing 27, deaths the day before.
Official data shows that Punjab had the highest number of deaths—12,821—while Sindh had 7,520, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5,673 and Gilgit-Baltistan 186 and Balochistan 352 deaths respectively. AJK recorded 740 deaths, while the Islamabad Capital Territory reported 936 deaths. According to the NCOC, Pakistan has tested for COVID-19 with 20,098,599 patients to date, 53,590 of whom have recovered in the last 24 hours.

According to reports, 103,761 patients in the Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,363 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 435,061 patients in Sindh, 412,162 in Punjab, 167,468 in KP, 32,608 in Balochistan, and 33,426 patients in AJK have recovered completely across Pakistan, while 2,131 patients are in critical condition.
