Defence Minister confirms airstrike success
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed that the Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian aircraft, including three Rafale jets. This response came after India’s recent cross-border aggression. He emphasized that Pakistan is fully prepared to counter any hostile move.
Speaking to CNN, Asif highlighted that Indian media has also acknowledged the crash of three jets in Indian-occupied Kashmir. “India attacked civilian areas, including women and children, which violates international law,” he said.
PM Shehbaz: Pakistan fully prepared to counter miscalculation
In a televised address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called India’s actions a “grave mistake.” He warned that India would face consequences for underestimating Pakistan’s resolve. “We are a brave nation, prepared to defend our homeland until the last drop of blood,” he stated.
Sharif added, “India made a strategic miscalculation. Our response echoed the spirit of Squadron Leader M.M. Alam. The world witnessed how swiftly India was brought to its knees.”
Pakistan fully prepared to avenge innocent blood: DG ISPR
DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry condemned the Indian attack, calling it cowardly and disgraceful. He stressed that every drop of innocent blood would be avenged. According to him, India violated the LoC ceasefire during the night of the 6th and 7th, resulting in 31 civilian deaths and 57 injuries.
He confirmed that Pakistan responded by downing five Indian jets, a combat drone, and destroying key military positions across the Line of Control. “Missiles from Indian airspace struck Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Ahmedpur Sharqia, Bagh, and Muridke. But Pakistan’s defense systems neutralized their intent,” he said.
Shehbaz Sharif: India will pay for its mistake
Speaking in Parliament, PM Shehbaz reiterated, “India’s blunder will not go unpunished.” He revealed that 80 Indian fighter jets attacked six Pakistani regions including AJK, Bahawalpur, and Sialkot. The Pakistan Air Force, fully alert and prepared, successfully thwarted the attack.
He praised the armed forces for their preparedness and intelligence gathering. “We anticipated their cowardly strike and responded forcefully,” said the Prime Minister.
Ishaq Dar: Pakistan fully prepared, rejects Indian narrative
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated that India used the Pahalgam incident as a pretext for its unprovoked aggression. Addressing the National Assembly, he noted that Pakistan had already condemned the attack and offered investigative support—earning global appreciation.
“We briefed over 40 foreign diplomats and clarified that Pakistan would never initiate aggression. Yet, if provoked, we are fully prepared to defend every inch of our land,” Dar said. He emphasized that any future provocation will be met with an even stronger response.
French official backs Pakistan’s claims on Rafale loss
A senior French intelligence official confirmed that Pakistan downed at least one Indian Rafale fighter jet. This marks the first combat loss for the French-made aircraft. French authorities are currently investigating the possibility that more Rafales were shot down.
“India’s pride in the Rafale has been shattered by Pakistan’s prompt and precise response,” said the French official to CNN. Meanwhile, Indian officials have yet to acknowledge the full extent of their losses.
