HARARE – Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 11 runs in the first T20I at Harare Sports Club on Wednesday.The Green Shirts bowled well, with Usman Qadir leading the way with three wickets from his four overs, Mohammad Hasnain two wickets, and Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hafeez picking up a wicket each.
Craig Ervine scored the most, 34 runs, for Zimbabwe, followed by Luke Jongwe’s 30 runs, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe’s 29 runs, while Wesley Madhevere and Ryan Burl scored 14 runs each.
Earlier, Pakistan set Zimbabwe 150-run target in the first T20I at Harare Sports Club on Wednesday.Invited to bat first, Pakistan scored 149 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Muhammad Rizwan hit 82 off 61 balls with the help of 10 fours and a six. Faakhar Zaman (13) and Danish Aziz (15) were other main contributors.Luke Jongwe and Wesley Madhevere got two wickets each, while Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava got one wicket each.
Pakistan’s top scorer with an undefeated runs was Muhammad Rizwan.
In response, Zimbabwe managed to reach 138 runs in the allowed 20 overs at a cost of seven wickets.
Luke Jongwe with thirty runs and Craig Ervine with thirty were Zimbabwe’s key scorers.
For Pakistan, Usman Qadir took three wickets, while Muhammad Husnain claimed two.
Muhammad Rizwan of Pakistan was named the game’s MVP.
The following encounter in the three-match series will take place at the same location on Friday, with Pakistan leading by a single wicket.
