OBESITY RATES DOUBLED AMONG PAKISTANI CHILDREN, EXPERTS
Karachi: Nutrition experts from the PNDS have said that obesity rates among Pakistan children have doubled in the last decade, while the number of malnutrition kids also spiked to 45%.

Representative of the Pakistan Nutrition and Dietetic Society (PNDS) held a press conference on Monday, in Karach iPress Club.PNDS President Faiza Khan, Vice President Dr Rubeeni Iqbal, Dr Seena Aziz and Dr Saima Rahsed held the press conference.

The briefing claims that during the previous ten years, Pakistan’s childhood obesity rate has gone up.

In her speech, the President of PNDS said that obesity and other nutrition-related issues are getting worse, and that malnutrition and a lack of vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients are pervasive issues in the country.

She went on to remark that the issues of extreme obesity and starvation affect both adults and children. She went on, “People in our country are not aware of these health hazards.”

PNDS is organizing a three-day health awareness event that will take place in a neighboring hotel from Friday through Sunday.

Governor Ismail will be the main guest at the closing ceremony, while Azra Pechuho, the minister of health, will be the conference’s first chief guest.
