NCOC Launches Rural Vaccination Campaign Against COVID-19

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Tuesday launched a door to door campaign to vaccinate people against COVID-19.

On February 26, 2020, the first COVID-19 case in Pakistan was reported. As of September 18, 2020, Pakistan had recorded 304,386 confirmed cases; of them, 291,683 patients were released, and 6,408 (2%) of those cases ended in death. This article aimed to provide a quick overview of Pakistan’s initial successes in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. Pakistan first banned entry for anyone coming from China, the pandemic’s epicenter. Lockdown conditions were imposed for a month by the National Command Operation Center (NCOC). The Prime Minister (PM) and NCOC modified it to a Smart Lockdown in order to lessen the financial losses. Among the prompt actions included the development of SOPs and the introduction of initiatives like the Pak Negheyban application, the Integrated Disease Information Management System, and the Resource Management System (RMS).
