**Explosions shake Walton Road** in Lahore early Thursday morning, sparking widespread panic and confusion. The loud blasts, which echoed through Gopal Nagar and Naseerabad areas near Walton Airport, sent locals fleeing from their homes as thick smoke rose into the sky.

Indian Spy Drone Shot Down Near Walton Airport

According to police sources, an Indian surveillance drone, measuring 5 to 6 feet, was intercepted and shot down near Walton Airport. The drone, which had crossed the border for reconnaissance, was carrying explosives and was neutralized through a signal-jamming system before reaching its intended target.

“The drone was brought down near a high-security area, preventing any potential damage,” a police spokesperson confirmed.

Police and Rescue Teams Quickly Respond to the Scene

Following the **explosions on Walton Road**, emergency services, including police and rescue teams, arrived to secure the area. Roads were cordoned off as authorities launched an investigation into the drone incident and the surrounding explosions.

Lahore and Sialkot Air Routes Closed Amid Tensions

As tensions rose in the region, several air routes in Lahore and Sialkot were temporarily closed. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued, declaring a no-fly zone for commercial flights until noon on Thursday. This disruption affected air traffic in the area.

“Airspace closures were necessary due to the ongoing security situation,” the NOTAM stated.

Flight Operations Disrupted Due to Airspace Restrictions

The airspace closure caused significant disruptions to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) operations. A flight from Medina, originally bound for Lahore, was rerouted to Karachi, and another flight from Multan to Lahore was also diverted due to the security measures in place.
