ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday disposed of plea seeking qualification of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan by terming it inadmissible, ARY News reported.
The Islamabad High Court (also known as the IHC) rejected a motion on Thursday that attempted to remove Imran Khan, the previous prime minister, from office for allegedly withholding information about his paternity from a “illegitimate daughter.”
Furthermore, the court issued thorough rulings about the petitions that sought to remove President Asif Ali Zardari and former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry from office, stating that the cases were “a waste of litigants’ time and diminish public confidence in their elected representatives.”
Regarding a petition against Imran Khan, a division bench of the IHC expressed its opinion that the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf “concealed his daughter” as a matter of “private life.”
The bench consisted of Chief Justice Athar was Minallah, who was stepping down, and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb. The petition also mentions the rights of a kid, which are also in jeopardy. The judge stated that her rights might be irrevocably breached should this court carry out the probe.
“This court may decline to use the extraordinary jurisdiction provided by Article 199 of the Constitution due to the likely consequences regarding the child’s rights.
