Government to channel oil savings for N-25 upgrade and Balochistan uplift
Government to channel oil savings for critical infrastructure
The government to channel oil savings into vital infrastructure projects marks a significant step toward national development. These savings, resulting from reduced global oil prices, will be reinvested to upgrade the N-25 highway to motorway standards and boost development efforts in Balochistan.
Upgrading N-25 highway to motorway standards
One of the major projects under this initiative is the transformation of the N-25 highway, which has long been known for its poor condition and safety hazards. Upgrading this highway to a modern motorway will improve connectivity, enhance safety, and support economic activities across the region.
Advancing Balochistan’s development with irrigation projects
Besides road infrastructure, the government is also focusing on the completion of Phase-II of the Kachhi Canal project in Balochistan. This irrigation project aims to bring water to arid lands, supporting agriculture and improving livelihoods in the province.
Collaborative supervision and quality assurance
To ensure transparency and high standards, the federal government, in collaboration with Balochistan’s provincial authorities, will personally supervise the progress of these projects. This hands-on approach demonstrates the government’s commitment to accountable and effective development.
Broader infrastructure plans linked to oil savings
In addition to the N-25 and Kachhi Canal projects, the government plans to invest in solarization of tubewells and the construction of other motorway sections such as the Hyderabad-Sukkur M-6 and Sukkur-Karachi M-9 routes. These efforts aim to enhance infrastructure nationwide, leveraging oil savings to maximize development impact.
