DHAKA: Pakistan’s young batter Haider Ali shared his experience of batting on a tough Bangladesh pitch.
Haider, who scored 45 off 38 balls against Bangladesh in the third T20I, said it wasn’t easy to bat on a pitch like here.
“It wasn’t easy to bat on this pitch. But, experience shared by our seniors helped us a lot. Rizwan and I were planning to score over by over and it really helped us,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we fell a bit in the end but Nawaz took us to the victory line and we are happy to win all three matches in this series,” he added.
Given that the opener had been batting wonderfully up until that time, it might have been a game-changing moment. Derbyshire prevailed in the high-scoring match despite Ali scoring 48 off of 34 balls.
Sam Hain scored an incredible 79 runs in just 36 balls for Warwickshire, who elected to bat first, amassing 203 runs on the board. In response, Haider Ali and Luis Reece gave Derbyshire a great start. Easy Midlands needed 108 runs to win the match when Ali was dismissed on the second ball of the eleventh over. For his team to cross the finish line, captain Leus du Plooy had to score an incredible 66 off 25 deliveries.
