Europe passes 6 million confirmed coronavirus cases

Europe has registered more than six million confirmed cases of novel coronavirus since it first appeared in the region in January, an AFP tally just after 1500 GMT Wednesday showed.

Since the virus first surfaced in Europe in January, more than six million cases have been confirmed, according to an AFP count.

With the greatest number of illnesses (1,248,619 infections and 21,865 fatalities), Spain (825,410 infections and 32,486 deaths), France (669,235 infections and 32,365 deaths), and Britain (530,113 infections and 42,445 deaths) across the continent thus far, there have been 6,000,940 infections and 237,716 deaths.

Over the last 24 hours, Turkey’s Health Ministry has reported 1,581 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 1,355 new recoveries.

Ministry data shows that there are currently 329,138 patients overall, with 288,954 recoveries.

almost the course of the last day, an additional 116,608 Covid-19 tests were performed, increasing the total to almost 11.16 million.

With 56 more deaths, the virus’s death toll rose to 8,609.

On Twitter, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca stated that the number of patients in critical condition was trending lower and that this number could be lowered with prompt treatment.

Additionally, the data revealed that 1,411 people are in critical condition at the moment, with pneumonia accounting for 6.2% of cases.
