ECC approves minimum price for wheat support as Rs. 1650/40 kg

Islamabad (Web Desk): Economic Coordination Committee has approved minimum support-price for the wheat crop as 1650 rupees per 40 kg, Radio Pakistan reported.

The minimum support price for the wheat crop has been authorized by the Economic Coordination Committee at 1650 rupees per 40 kg.

The decision was made at the ECC meeting, which was chaired by Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, the Prime Minister’s Financial Advisor, on Friday in Islamabad.

The present release price of 1475 rupees for 40 kilograms was upheld during the meeting.

Additionally, the Economic Coordination Commission authorized the 70:30 wheat grinding ratio at the basic level.

It was also decided that the Coordination Committee would determine the ratio for the refined kinds of wheat flour.

It authorized the flour mills to release a total of 38,000 metric tons of wheat every day.

25,000 MT from Punjab, 8,000 MT from Sindh, 4,000 MT from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 1,000 MT from Balochistan will be released in this batch.

The committee approved the Punjabi government’s request for an additional 0.7 MMT of wheat, of which Trading Corporation of Pakistan will import 0.4 MMT for Punjab.

Finally, the ECC authorized a technical supplemental grant worth 11.680 billion rupees to cover the outstanding debts of retired employees of Pakistan Steel Mills who were not litigants.
