Islamabad (Web Desk): Economic Coordination Committee has approved minimum support-price for the wheat crop as 1651 rupees per 40 kg, Radio Pakistan reported.
The Economic Coordination Committee has approved 1651 rupees per 40 kg as the minimum support price for the wheat harvest.
The Prime Minister’s Financial Advisor, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, presided the ECC meeting on Friday in Islamabad, where the decision was made.
During the meeting, the current release price of 40 kg for 1475 rupees was maintained.
In addition, the basic 70:30 wheat grinding ratio was approved by the Economic Coordination Commission.
It was also decided that the ratio for the refined varieties of wheat flour would be decided by the Coordination Committee.
It authorized the flour mills to release a total of 38,000 metric tons of wheat every day.
25,000 MT from Punjab, 8,000 MT from Sindh, 4,000 MT from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 1,000 MT from Balochistan will be released in this batch.
The committee approved the Punjabi government’s request for an additional 0.7 MMT of wheat, of which Trading Corporation of Pakistan will import 0.4 MMT for Punjab.
Finally, the ECC authorized a technical supplemental grant worth 11.680 billion rupees to cover the outstanding debts of retired employees of Pakistan Steel Mills who were not litigants.
