In light of the possibility of sitting across from National Rally (RN) ministers should the party achieve a significant victory in the June 30 and July 7 elections,  french federations are being cautious in their public remarks.

According to AFP, local business group U2P’s chief Michel Picon stated that while the organization will “respect the people’s choice,” the RN “has to say more precisely what it proposes on questions with a tax, social, and economic effect on small firms.”

He remembered how the organization had forewarned during the most recent presidential election in 2022 that RN chief Marine Le Pen’s campaign promises “would have bad consequences for business.”

The centrist Macron’s term in government has been characterized by public courtship of foreign investment and business-friendly measures.

On the other hand, the head of the French unit of a major European industrial corporation claimed, under condition of anonymity, that “we know nothing” about the RN’s plans.

“After ten years, we’ve just recently witnessed the start of a reindustrialization, with supply-side policies paying off. Will everything continue as is?” He inquired.

Regarding power, the laws of energy and economics will overtake the RN, according to an electricity provider who spoke on condition of anonymity.

More affordable energy is needed. It takes 10–15 years to build a nuclear facility. While we wait, what do we do? And if we don’t want any more electric cars, how do we draw in battery factories?” quoting another of Le Pen’s pet peeves, he continued.
