Pti Founder Shah Mehmood Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

A special court in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail sentenced PTI founder Shah Mahmood Qureshi to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in the cipher case.

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the special court established under the Official Secrets Act delivered a brief verdict orally.

The founder of PTI and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were present in the court room when the verdict was pronounced.

On this occasion, PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were given a questionnaire to record the statement of 342 in the court room.

The founder of PTI and Shah Mahmood Qureshi gave a statement that our lawyers are not present, how will we record the statement?

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain told PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi that your lawyers are not appearing, you have been provided State Defense Council.

Safai lawyers asked that we cross-examine.

The judge told the lawyers clearly that you have mistrusted me.

It should be noted that yesterday the court gave an opportunity to the lawyers of PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi for cross-examination.

The PTI founder and the deputy chairman of the party received 10-year prison terms in January of this year for their roles in the cipher case.
