KARACHI: Pakistan’s bowling coach Shaun Tait, who missed the Rawalpindi Test of the historic Benaud-Qadir Trophy due to his father’s demise, will now reach the country on March 9, sources claimed.
Tait will travel to Pakistan to oversee the bowling of the national team for their historic home series against Australia, following the death of his father last month. After being placed under three days of isolation after arriving on March 9 and receiving the results of a negative COVID-19 test, the bowling consultant will be available again. Tait’s father passed away earlier, and PCB, which also sent its sympathies, says the bowling coach will be late reporting to the team.
PCB extends its condolences for the loss of Shaun Tait’s father, the bowling coach, given the circumstances surrounding his untimely arrival in Pakistan. As stated in the statement, “Shaun’s new arrival date will be confirmed in due course.”
It should be mentioned that Tait was given a 12-month contract to coach Pakistan’s bowling unit. Pakistan’s home series against Australia will be his first task.
Shaun Tait is who?
Due to persistent elbow problems, Shaun Tait stated in 2017 that he was retiring from all aspects of the game.
Tait concluded his career in first-class cricket in 2009 and withdrew from one-day international cricket in 2011.
With 23 wickets in the West Indies at the 2007 World Cup, the former fast bowler shared second place in the competition’s wicket-taker standings and played a significant role in Australia’s victory.
Thirty-five ODIs, twenty-one Twenty20s, three tests, and last year’s farewell appearance for Australia against India in the shortest format all took place in Sydney.
