Dawid Malan has jumped four spots to claim the number 1 position in the latest ICC T20I Player Rankings for batting.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s limited-overs team, dropped one spot to number two in the batting rankings in the most recent ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.

Middle-order batsman David Malan of England vaulted four spots to take the top spot in the most recent rankings, which were made public on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old left-hander has moved four spots after leading the series with a run total of 129, which included a 66 player of the match performance in the opening game. Malan now has eight rating points more than Pakistan’s Babar Azam. Malan’s best finish came in second place in November of last year.

As of Wednesday, Malan’s teammates Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler had also improved. Bairstow has moved up three slots to a career-high 19th place after scoring 72 runs in the series, while Buttler has moved up from 40th to 28th place and won player of the series after hitting 121 runs in two games.

Australia’s captain Aaron Finch has managed to maintain third place in the series with 125 runs. Glenn Maxwell, on the other hand, climbs from sixth place among hitters to second place among all-rounders, only behind Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan.

Adil Rashid, the leg-spinner for England, moved up two spots to grab seventh place after collecting the most wickets in the series with six. After taking five wickets, Australia’s left-arm spinner Ashton Agar finished third, trailing only Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman of Afghanistan.
