Arshad Nadeem Eyes Gold at Asian Athletics Championship

Arshad Nadeem Eyes Gold in Major Comeback

Nadeem eyes gold as he gears up for the Asian Athletics Championship, marking his first major competition since the Olympics. Speaking to the media in Lahore, he revealed five months of intense training behind his preparation. Rather than dwelling on the past, he emphasized his strong focus on winning.

Determined to Outdo Himself

According to Arshad, his main competitor has always been himself. “My contest is always with Arshad Nadeem. I just want to perform at my best,” he stated. Notably, he believes that when he gives his best, the gold medal naturally follows.

Setting His Sights on Global Glory

Arshad is not limiting his ambitions to just one event. He aims to secure gold in the World Championships, Asian Championships, Asian Games, and Diamond Leagues. Clearly, his vision extends well beyond national achievements.

Focused on the 2028 Olympics

Looking to the future, Arshad confirmed his intention to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. He plans to dedicate the entire year prior to the Games solely to Olympic preparation. This strategic approach highlights his commitment to long-term excellence.

Coach Confident in Star Athlete

Salman Iqbal Butt, his coach, shared confidence in Arshad’s form and mindset. “His preparation is on point. He is once again determined to deliver a strong performance,” he noted. Furthermore, he sees pressure not as a burden but as a motivator for peak performance.

Building Momentum Before the World Stage

As part of his preparation, Arshad will participate in two to three international events before the World Championship in September. These competitions will help fine-tune his form and keep him battle-ready for the global spotlight.
