Pakistan Monday reported it highest single day cases since July 22 as the country reported 1,650 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows. on July 22, A total of 1763 new cases had been reported in 24-hours and after that, the virus tally of 1,650 is the highest till date as Pakistan continued to see a considerable daily surge of the virus cases as the country is being hit by the second wave of the coronavirus. There were 9 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 6,077 that represents a ratio of 2%. According to the figures, 1,650 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours after conducting 33,340 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 344,839 that returned positive after conducting 4,709,603 total tests so far. The number of active cases in the country reached 18,981 with 972 patient in critical condition.
There are 1,107 virus patients admitted to the hospitals for the treatment while 155 patients are on the ventilators. There were 464 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 318,881 with a 92.5% recovery rate. Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 345 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 106,922 with 6,876 active cases. The province reported one new virus-related death as death toll reaches 2,408. With 24 new recoveries, 97,638 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far. The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 627 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 150,169 with 6,935 active cases. The province reported five new deaths as the death toll reached 2,631. With 142 new recoveries, 140,550 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 260 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 40,657 with 1,264 active cases. The province reported no new virus-related death as death toll remains at 1,288.
With 84 new recoveries, 38,105 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far. Balochistan has recorded another 51 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 16,106 with 252 active cases. The province reported no new virus-related death as the death toll remains at 154. With 17 new recoveries, 15,700 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far. Islamabad has recorded 304 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 21,861 with 2,500 active cases. Three new deaths were reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 241. With 148 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients reached at 19,120 in the federal capital so far. Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 55 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 4,758 with 995 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remained at 109. There were 30 new recoveries in the AJK as 3,654 patients have recovered so far from the virus. Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 8 new cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 4,366 with 252 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remained at 93. There were 18 recoveries as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,114.
