Reportedly, the SCBA could not carry out the demolition Nasla tower work yesterday and only took out grills and windows from the Tower apartments. Today, the SCBA has started a full-fledged operation to bring down the building.SHC orders razing of extra floors of P&T Housing Society buildingSeparately, the Sindh High Court on Tuesday ordered to demolish extra floors of a six-storey P&T Cooperative Housing Society during the hearing of a case pertaining to illegal constructions in Karachi. Justice Zafar Ahmad Rajput showed his anger over the delay by the SBCA. He said the SBCA officers were expert in making excuses as they understood law and knew how to make delay in the implementation of court order.
Counsel for SBCA told the court that the board had written letter to the concerned SSP for security. The judge inquired had their responsibility finished after writing letter for initiating the action.According to the petitioner Muhammad Ayub, illegal constructions were made in D 58 Sector and 31 D Korangi. It further stated that a six-storey building was erected on a plot near Nasir Jump. The builders could only make a building on the 600 square yard comprising ground and two more floors.The SHC sought a report regarding implementation on court order from the SBCA authorities till Jan 19.
Court orders to halt work on housing town In another illegal construction case in Karachi’s Sindhi Muslim Society, the Sindh High Court has stopped the builders from constructing town housing. The court issued notices to chief secretary, SBCA DG, KMC administrator, Karachi commissioner and builders Syed Arshad Raza, Babar Shabbir Khan and Waseem Khan. The court was hearing a petition submitted by Sindhi Muslim Society. The petitioner stated that as per the law, a housing town could not be constructed in the society. Plot No. 39 and A 10 are 600sq yard plots and the builders have started work on the town housing on plots in Block A, the society lawyer told the court.
