KARACHI: Pakistan’s former batting consultant Matthew Hayden backs the national team who is ready to face Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series from November 19 in Dhaka. Taking to social media, Hayden shared some support to Pakistani players whom he spent some quality time during T20 World Cup 2021 as a batting consultant.
“Asalam o alaikum Pakistan! I am in Brisbane at the moment and completing my isolation days here but my heart is beating with all the players and support staff of the Pakistan cricket team in Dhaka. I wish all the best of luck to the Pakistan cricket team. Come on Champs, you can do it. Pakistan Zindabad,” he wrote.
It must be noted here that Hayden was appointed as Pakistan team’s batting consultant for T20 World Cup 2021 by the newly appointed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s chairman Ramiz Raja.
According to a spokesman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), an order was issued after the organization “noticed that some local fans were flying foreign flags flouting the country’s flag rules”.
The official told AFP, “We’ve received instruction in this regard,” without offering any further information.
“Therefore, we have directed security personnel and guards to ensure that supporters of Bangladesh are unable to carry or fly flags of other countries within the stadiums.”
Bangladesh had been a part of Pakistan before the 1971 war.
The night before Bangladesh celebrated its 44th Independence Day, which honors the day the nation launched war on Pakistan, the BCB ruling was made.
