Abed Al-Malhi: Primary Suspect in Lahore Road Rape

Prime accused in Lahore Motorway rape case Abid Malhi was arrested in Manga Mandi on Monday. According to CIA SP Asim Iftikhar, the main accused Abid Ali was arrested in Manga Mandi after a search operation. Police said that Abid was being brought to Lahore where his DNA test would be taken. On September 9, two robbers allegedly raped a woman at gunpoint in Gujjarpura area of Lahore while she was waiting for help on the motorway after her car ran out of petrol.

The other accused Shafqat is already in the jail on judicial remand. Police has been tracing the prime accused since September 9, the day when he was allegedly robbed and raped a woman on motorway in Gujjurpura area of Lahore. Malhi had managed to escape police four times. Confirming the news, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill on Monday announced in a tweet that Abid Malhi was arrested. He would be punished according to the law of the land, Gill added.

Gujjarpura rape case prime suspect Abid Malhi belonged to Bahawalnagar village 260HR. The 27-year-old Abid Malhi, son of Akbar Ali, was named accused in another robbery-cum-rape case number 264/13 in Fort Abbas police station. Abid Ali was nominated in the FIR along with four others in the gang-rape incident during the robbery. The victim was gang-raped during the robbery in front of her father and mother.
