. Nawaz urged local party leaders to be in touch with other PDM parties the anti-government campaign could be vigorous, the sources said, adding that he gave the talk of heading mass contact campaign to Mian Javed Latif. He stressed people should be motivated first.

A comprehensive understanding on cooperation was created during the first formal meeting between the top officials of the PML-N and PPP that took place here on Sunday, following the general elections on July 25.

In response to a question regarding the meeting’s outcome, Mushahid Hussain Sayed of the PML-N said, “It was an ice-breaker.” The gathering was held at the residence of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the former speaker of the National Assembly.

“It was a very good meeting and you can call it a meeting of the minds,” the PML-N leader said, adding that both sides agreed that the “July 25 elections have been stolen.”

He stated that all factions believed they should “totally reject” the election results and implement “a coordinated joint opposition strategy” in order to put the PTI administration led by Imran Khan to the test while remaining in parliament.

The PML-N informed the PPP delegates that it would notify them of its decision about the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) proposal to boycott parliament, he added, adding that the two parties would reconvene on Monday. He claimed that the PML-N had been informed by the PPP representation that they did not support a boycott of parliament.
