PM Shehbaz visits dockyard to pay tribute to Pakistan Navy’s role in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos
PM Shehbaz visits dockyard to acknowledge the Pakistan Navy’s vital contributions to national security and maritime defence. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this visit highlights the armed forces’ collective role in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
Upon his arrival at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu also joined him during the visit.
PM Shehbaz boarded the Type-054A Class Destroyer PNS TAIMUR. During the briefing, Commander Pakistan Fleet explained the Navy’s operational strategies, current missions, and key contributions to Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
The prime minister interacted with naval officers and sailors. He praised their professionalism, readiness, and firm dedication to defending Pakistan’s maritime frontiers. He assured them of the nation’s respect and trust in the armed forces.
While addressing the officers, PM Shehbaz commended the Navy’s strategic posture and its swift, effective responses to emerging maritime threats. He stressed the Navy’s crucial role in safeguarding trade routes, ensuring maritime security, and maintaining sovereignty through a reliable seaward defence system.
Reflecting on history, PM Shehbaz cited the Navy’s historic missions like Operation Dwarka. He emphasized that Pakistan Navy stands fully prepared to replicate such high-intensity operations if required, defending the nation’s interests at sea.
Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information Attaulah Tarar, and Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui accompanied the prime minister during the visit.
