ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that the federal cabinet decided to spend additional funds worth Rs500 billion for the development of South Punjab.

PM Imran Khan, while addressing a massive public gathering in Mailsi city today, announced Rs500 billion additional funds for the development of South Punjab. He also announced to introduce an amendment in the National Assembly for the creation of South Punjab province.

“We will see if Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) support this move or not. Both [opposition] parties are demanding to make South Punjab a province for a long time.”

Speaking to a sizable political assembly in the south Punjabi district of Vehari, the prime minister said that his government had taken firm action to assist farmers, which would pave the way for the prosperity of the country. He stated that in order to give the nation’s farmers access to affordable urea, the government was developing a Rs132 billion subsidy scheme.

Because of the known urea problem, we are now importing urea from China and it will arrive soon. According to Prime Minister Imran, we have done everything in our power to shield people from the coronavirus, even in light of the current inflation problem.
